After all the rumors and the hype surrounding a possible flip to Michigan, five-star running back Najee Harris was spotted Sunday afternoon at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.

The end.

Harris is headed to Alabama.

The Antioch, Calif., standout and top-ranked prospect in the 2017 Rivals100 has been committed to the Crimson Tide for more than a year but his recruitment became interesting in the last few months with talk that Michigan had become a serious contender.

It could have been easily solved by Harris but the five-star who claimed he didn’t like the attention around his recruitment wouldn’t discuss his status and it seemed even those closest to him were not certain what was going on.

Harris did not discuss his status all week at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, furthering confusion about what was happening, and then the five-star said he would not announce his choice, only show up at a school and then things would be finalized.

Harris was expected to fly home to Oakland this weekend, but those plans changed. Sunday, Al.com posted a photo of Harris wearing an Antioch letterman’s jacket in the Birmingham airport and all speculation seemed to cease. A decision had been reached.

During the Army week, Harris hype was all over the place. Four-star Alabama quarterback commit Tua Tagovailoa said Harris was traveling with him to campus after the game and the two planned to dorm together in Tuscaloosa. That could still be the case.

But Michigan talk persisted as well – there’s no question Harris was seriously considering the Wolverines - and nobody seemed to really know what Harris would do. One source said, “Najee changes his mind every 10 minutes.”

It seems like Harris has finally made up his mind. And Alabama continues to load up with insane amounts of talent.
