Penn State lost its only offensive line commitment of the 2018 class on yesterday morning but that void was quickly filled on Saturday. Rivals250 offensive tackle Nana Asiedu out of Stafford (Va.) North Stafford has announced his commitment to Penn State.

IN HIS OWN WORDS…

"I decided to pick Penn State because that's where I have the best relationships with the coaches and I feel the most comfortable," Asiedu said. "I feel like I fit in best there. The coaching staff and I text back and forth every single day. Sometimes we don't even talk about football. We talk about life and things like that. They also have a really good relationship with my family. My parents trust the coaches a lot. They talk to coach Franklin a lot and they always have a good time talking to him.

"I would say coach Huff, the running backs coach, and coach Limegrover, the offensive line coach, did the best job recruiting me," he said. "Coach Limegrover is a really fun guy to be around. He cares about me as a person, not just a football player. He's really big on developing me and is very excited about coaching me. Coach Huff has done a really good job recruiting in Virginia. He's a really energetic guy and is a young guy. He's fun to be around and always has a simile on his face.

"Ricky and I are good friends," said Asiedu. "Knowing him and me could be on the same team together one day is crazy. We're both pretty excited about it.

"I just want to see the atmosphere during the game today and what the stadium is like," he said. "It'll be good to see how the coaches coach in game situations.

"My hopes are that this class does something big in the future," Asiedu said. "Hopefully we win a National Championship with this class and we can look back on it as the best class to ever come through."

RIVALS' REACTION

Up to this point, Asiedu is the marquee offensive tackle commitment of the James Franklin era at Penn State. Ranked at No. 170 in the Rivals250, Asiedu is nowhere near hitting his ceiling as a prospect and only started playing football just a few years ago. He has great length, a huge frame to fill out, and is so athletic that he was initially playing tight end as a freshman. Asiedu's technique is improving exponentially and the Penn State staff will have a great time molding him into the best football player they can.
