FARRELL'S VIEW: TYJON LINDSEY TO NEBRASKA

This one is easy to me despite some very important commitments in recent days. Tyjon Lindsey to Nebraska is massive for the Huskers for many reasons, first and foremost because of his explosive talent and ability after the catch. Lindsey’s speed is exactly what every team covets at the wide receiver position and I can see him impacting on special teams as well. In addition to his talent, the fact that Nebraska pulled him away from Ohio State and that he’s a West Coast kid who can influence others also makes it big.

The Calibraska movement started strong but many felt it hit a dead end with Jamire Calvin’s surprising commitment to Oregon State over the Huskers on national television at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl earlier this month. However, a week later and things look up again for the movement, as you can bet Lindsey will be working on Calvin and others to finish strong.

I like Oregon’s flip of Braxton Burmeister from Arizona and Michigan State landing a good defender in Antjuan Simmons. But to me, it’s Lindsey to Nebraska.

GORNEY'S VIEW: JAYLEN HARRIS TO OHIO STATE

There is no question that getting Lindsey to flip from Ohio State to Nebraska was huge for the Huskers because the four-star receiver is arguably the most dynamic player in this class and he can be an immediate contributor in Lincoln.

But Ohio State is a national title contender right now and so the Buckeyes landing four-star receiver Jaylen Harris is the most important recent commitment.

The Cleveland Heights, Ohio, standout is another talented, outside receiver option for the Buckeyes and he could be a really nice complement to five-star WR pledge Trevon Grimes, the top WR in the class.

Harris might not have the star power as some other receivers – maybe not even as much as Lindsey – but he could be important to Ohio State as it looks to continue to dominate the Big Ten.

Four-star linebacker Antjuan Simmons going to Michigan State – especially since he’s from Ann Arbor – and four-star QB Braxton Burmeister flipping from Arizona to Oregon were two other notable recent commitments. But Harris could be a major player for the Buckeyes and could help coach Urban Meyer win another national title.
