Four-star Georgia WR chooses the Cards

Atlanta (Ga.) Roswell wide receiver Corey Reed has been saying for the last few months that Louisville was the leader in his recruitment.

Things can change quickly in the recruiting world, but Reed stuck with the Cardinals. The four-star wide receiver announced his commitment to Louisville on Tuesday, and he gave CardinalSports.com the details to why he's choosing to suit up for Bobby Petrino's squad.

"Every time I visited there, I fell in love with the campus," Reed said. "It was just one of those things where I knew it was right for me."

Reed says that the coaching staff wasn't exactly expecting his commitment when he let them know the big news, but they knew what his decision would be all along at the same time.

"They were surprised. I'm so comfortable with the coaches and the relationship was so strong that they kind of weren't surprised," said Reed. "Our relationship is just that strong."

The Louisville coaching staff was vital in Reed choosing the Cards over the likes of Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami (FL), Oregon State, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Wisconsin, and Pittsburgh. Reed especially has a strong relationship with his future wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway.

"It played a big role. I actually communicate with them everyday," Reed said. "(Galloway) is who I'm closest with.

"He was really excited. He actually said that I can play a big role in their receiving core next year and play as soon as I get there."

Reed, who plans on playing multiple receiver position spots in the Cards' offense, is firmly committed, but he still could see other schools this fall.

"I may take official visits, but as of right now, I'm 100% committed," he stated.
