Farrell Forecast: Predicting conference title game results

The Farrell Forecast isn’t only about predicting where high school football players will end up in college, it’s also about picking the winners and losers from each college football weekend.

Here’s my take on the Power Five title games (and a key matchup in the Big 12) being played this weekend.

NOTE: All times Eastern. All games Saturday, Dec. 3 unless noted.

COLORADO VS. WASHINGTON, 9:00 P.M., FOX (Friday, 12/2)

Colorado has played well in every game this season and is a well-coached team that will hang around here and possibly pull an upset if things are close in the fourth quarter. However, the offensive firepower of Washington and their overall balance won’t allow that to happen.

Prediction: Washington 34, Colorado 21

OKLAHOMA STATE AT OKLAHOMA, 12:30 P.M., FOX

Bedlam is at Oklahoma this season and the Sooners are as hot as anyone in the country offensively. In what should be a shootout, I’ll take Baker Mayfield and DeDe Westbrook over a sometimes suspect Cowboys secondary in a big rout.

Prediction: Oklahoma 41, Oklahoma State 20

ALABAMA VS. FLORIDA, 4:00 P.M., CBS

The Gators are simply overmatched with so many injuries and a lack of roster talent that can compete with Alabama. The defense is good, but this should end up being a rout by the end.

Prediction: Alabama 42, Florida 14

CLEMSON VS. VIRGINIA TECH, 8:00 P.M., ABC

Clemson is starting to show the offensive firepower we expected all season and Virginia Tech can get lit up at times on defense. I like the Hokies' grit and Jerod Evans as a leader, but they should be overwhelmed by a rolling Tigers offense.

Prediction: Clemson 38, Virginia Tech 17

PENN STATE VS. WISCONSIN, 8 P.M., FOX

Penn State is playing with great confidence and the offense is humming along while Wisconsin’s defense is stout and will keep them in any game. This will be a slugfest, but it’s hard to bet against the Nittany Lions lately.

Prediction: Penn State 27 Wisconsin 24
