Alabama takes over No. 1 for 2017 team rankings

It is a three-team race atop the class of 2017 team rankings, and there is a new No. 1 after the latest rankings release.

Alabama, bolstered by recent quarterback commit Mac Jones, passed Ohio State to become No. 1 in the team rankings with 11 commitments and an average star rating of 4.18. The Tide currently have two five-stars in the fold in running back Najee Harris and offensive lineman Eliot Baker.

Ohio State is No. 2 with 1,680 points. Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes have 13 commitments, including five-stars offensive lineman Josh Myers and defensive back Shaun Wade.

Oklahoma checks in at No. 3, just 62 points behind the Buckeyes, thanks to an average star rating of 3.77 among its 13 commits.
